CROWN POINT, INDIANA, US, June 19, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- On Friday, June 22, the team at Glen Lerner Injury Attorneys will do our part to spread hope to those who so desperately need it. From 9:30am to 11:00am, we will be at the Indiana Hope Center in Crown Point, Indiana, packing and sending the light of hope in the form of care packages with Phil’s Friends. Our team is excited to lend our time to such a noble cause.

Phil’s Friends is a nonprofit, Christian agency with the mission to bring hope and support to those battling cancer in the United States. They do this by providing care packages and weekly Cards of Hope to patients and their families. They also invoke the power of prayer to assist and support cancer patients on their road to recovery.

Founder Phil Zielke knows exactly how the kind of hopelessness and defeat can cloud one’s mindset after a cancer diagnosis. As a two-time cancer survivor himself, Mr. Zielke is no stranger to these feelings. These feelings of despair can have a crippling effect on not only the patient, but their family as well. That is why Phil’s Friends is committed to being the light for families that have found themselves in the dark. Each care package is assembled by a caring volunteer with items to bring comfort and joy to its recipient. Along with the care packages, patients will also receive weekly encouragement from our volunteers in the form of Cards of Hope. These hand-colored cards aim to let the patient and their family know that they have more people in their corner praying for their recovery.

“A cancer diagnosis can leave a person feeling hopeless, alone, scared, and helpless. These feelings aren’t limited to the person who receives the diagnosis. Cancer can send shockwaves throughout a whole family. We make a living out of bringing people closure during some of their darkest times. Volunteering with Phil’s Friends gives us the chance to be the bearers of light in a seemingly hopeless situation,” says attorney Glen Lerner. “We are excited and proud to give our time and energy to provide hope to those who need the strength to continue one of the hardest fights of their life.”
