Glenn Almack: A Cause to Believe In

DALLAS, TEXAS, UNITED STATES, January 19, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Community member Glenn Almack has always been a stand-up member of society. Glenn is known among his peers as dependable, empathetic, and a real leader. Almack has always been a strong believer in the advancement of his community, which is why he chose to put his faith in the Dallas branch of the International Dyslexia Association also referred to as the “Dallas Branch of The IDA”.

Glenn Almack has always been inspired by the International Dyslexia Association and makes it his priority to donate time and funds to the Dallas branch of the IDA. He recently made a significant donation of $100.00 to the Dallas Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. The organization offers children and adults a new perspective on their dyslexia, offering scholarships and changing the negative perception Dyslexia acquired when it was first discovered. The Dallas IDA gives a simplified breakdown of their organization with their mission statement “The International Dyslexia Association Dallas Branch is committed to promoting literacy for individuals with dyslexia and related disorders through advocacy, education, and support.”

Dyslexia has always been a personal issue to Glenn Almack. A member of Almack’s family has struggled with the learning disorder for years, making use of programs like the IDA’s to tackle the problem head-on. Almack is quoted elaborating, "A family member has benefited from specialized reading instructional programs, with dramatic and lasting results." Almack has watched his family member grow as a person from the programs offered to them by the International Dyslexia Association. The association offers a plethora of options to those struggling with dyslexia. One of those great programs is a monthly dyslexia support group, also known as The Dallas Dyslexia Information Group (DDIG).

Another movement associated with the IDA is TeamQuest. The IDA has been quoted explaining their goals behind creating TeamQuest, “Our goal is that all stakeholders will realize their full potential and advance our destiny. We focus on educating parents, teachers, and professionals about dyslexia, assuring that structured literacy is embedded in educator training and providing the opportunity for all people to learn to read.” The program puts on several fund-raising events during the year to gain support and understanding of dyslexia with the proceeds going to programs which bring people together “to help create a better future for every child and adult who struggles with dyslexia and other reading difficult because reading changes lives! Way to go!” (Dallas IDA).
