Turkmenistan, Jordan ready to create joint economic co-op group

A meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Jordan to Turkmenistan Ismail Issa Rifaie was held in the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan, the ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

The parties expressed interest in the establishment of a joint economic cooperation group for the further development of trade relations and investment opportunities.

Discussing the trade and economic cooperation, they noted the need to expand the legal framework and agreed to consider the possibility of enhancing contacts between the business structures of the two countries.

The ambassador made proposals for the development of cooperation in the fields of science, education, tourism and pharmaceuticals.

Turkmenistan plays the role of one of the key actors in the energy market of the Caspian region and Central Asia.

Turkmenistan is interested in the experience of Jordanian partners in the extraction of minerals and production of mineral fertilizers.

In addition, the capabilities of Jordanian companies can be in demand in the project being implemented in Turkmenistan – the creation of the Avaza national tourist zone on the coast of the Caspian Sea.
