Everyone loves this dad's giant fart at the Indiana State Fair

Gordon Amos puts his own spin on the giant letters at the Indiana State Fair.

I have no doubt that there is lots of farting going on at the Indiana State Fair, but only one Indiana dad's giant fart transformed him into an internet sensation.

Last week, Julie Amos shared a photo of her father striking a pose with the human-sized letters that are supposed to spell out "FAIR" when someone stands between the "A" and "R" to become the missing "I."

But Gordon Amos, who his daughter said is not usually someone clamoring for a selfie, had something else in mind and launched his silent but deadly attack on social media. Check it out.

Extra indeed. But the internet loved it, and Gordon Amos went viral overnight. As of Tuesday morning, the post had been liked more than 53,000 times, and retweeted more than 13,000 times.

Julie Amos said the response to the photo was unexpected, but very cool.

"All he wanted to do was to take a picture to send to his granddaughter, and it’s definitely crazy seeing how viral it’s gone!" she told IndyStar via Twitter. "His only response is 'when do I start making money?'"

Julie Amos said her dad is from Indianapolis and recently retired from his career as  fixed operations director for Ray Skillman Dealerships.
