VALDOSTA – The Valdosta Police Department arrests a Valdosta man for the armed robbery of a gas station on Baytree Road.

Release:

Arrested: Na’quwan Fryson, African American male, 19 years of age, Valdosta resident

On April 22, 2024, at approximately 9:40 pm., Valdosta Police Officers responded to Shell Gas Station, 901 Baytree Road, after the store clerk called E911 to report that an armed robbery had just occurred at the convenient store.
When officers arrived, the clerk and witnesses reported that a male had come into the store, produced a firearm, then took money and property from the store.

Valdosta Police Department Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel responded to conduct the investigation.

On April 23, 2024, while reviewing surveillance video, detectives identified Na’quwan Fryson, 19 years of age, as the person who entered the store with a firearm and committed the robbery. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for Fryson for the following:

  • Armed robbery-felony;
  • Aggravated assault-felony; and
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony-felony.

On April 25, 2024, at approximately 5:00 am., Valdosta Police Officers responded to the area of the 100 block of East Hill Avenue after a citizen called E911 to report suspicious activity in a parking lot. When officers arrived in the area, they observed Fryson and took him into custody for the arrest warrant. Officers found a firearm in Fryson’s presence, which had been reported stolen earlier in the year.

This case is still under investigation and further charges are pending.

“This is incredible teamwork by our department. From the quick identification of the offender by detectives, all the way to the successful apprehension of him, along with the recovery of a firearm. I am proud of the effort by our entire department.” Said Chief Leslie Manahan
