The West Virginia State Police will be conducting a DUI checkpoint on Friday.

The DUI checkpoint will happen  in Tyler County on West Virginia State Route 2 near the entrance to the Post Office between 8:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.

State Police say this is an effort to deter drunk driving.

Motorists wishing to avoid having to travel through the checkpoint on West Virginia State Route 2, can simply drive around the checkpoint by traveling on Hill Street.
