RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Former Trinity star Armando Bacot announced his verbal commitment to the University of North Carolina on Thursday evening. The rising senior declared his decision on social media.

Bacot picked the Tar Heels over VCU, Duke, Georgia, and Oklahoma State.

The 6'10" forward averaged 24.2 points and 11.5 rebounds during his senior season. During the summer, he won a gold medal with the Team USA U18 National Team at the FIBA Americas Tournament in Canada.

Earlier this summer, Bacot announced he would transfer to IMG Academy in Florida to play his senior season of high school basketball.

UNC has one other local player in L.C. Bird's Kenny Williams, who will be a senior this coming school year.
